Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Truly amazing place with truly delicious food! We were staying for one night in Bologna on our way back to Canada, and thankfully went to La Prosciutteria for a very late lunch. Their menu offers so many choices. My son had a sandwich/Schiacciata and I had La Prosciutteria Chopping Board. Both were very generous and beyond delicious, with beautiful presentation. I also ordered Aperol Spritz. The vibe of the place is just perfect - lively and welcoming. If I’m ever back in Bologna this will be my place to go to!"
"Busy and full of character. Good local food and a decent choice of wines. Good value for money. Service friendly but a little chaotic, you queue to order then go to collect from the counter when your name is called. We went two times, once for dinner, Wild boar ragu, and then for lunch which was a delicious Tuscan sandwich."
"Really good aperitivo and service, perfect for a quick breakfast. We had their “la prosciutteria chopping board” for two persons. The cheese is a bit on the bitter side, but depends on your preference."
"Perfect. No other words to describe it. We tried a platter and a sandwich, they were both excellent. Nice vibe, great cuts, spritzes cost 6.5 euros (as they should), the only drawback is that people like it so you might struggle to get a table or you might need to wait on a queue to order. Well done."
"Our first trip to Bologna and our first stop when we got there. Atmosphere was a great welcome to the incredible food scene Bologna has to offer. We had the premium board for three people and we had four of us. We also enjoyed the house red wine."
"Awesome place close to the Piazza Maggiore. We stopped in for lunch around 12:30 and only had 2 people on line ahead of us. Cool atmosphere with tables inside and out. I had the 17 and she had the 20 ( see menu). They were both really good. Super fresh bread and ingredients. Cold beer and free water. Highly recommend this place. Check it out!"
"La Prosciutteria Bologna is located in the very center of Bologna and is well known among locals. Based on its strong ratings and recommendations, I decided to visit. Prices are reasonable and fair for the location. The service, however, is very basic and mostly self-service. You place your order at the counter and have to pick up your food yourself. Perhaps this is simply their style — eating with wooden cutlery and a more informal, rustic concept. Still, some basic table details that usually enhance the dining experience are missing, such as proper cutlery, salt and pepper on the table, olive oil, or vinegar. Overall, the food and prices meet expectations, but the service concept and lack of basic table essentials slightly reduce the overall experience."
"La Prosciutteria was on our list way before we got to Italy, we could not wait to try it, we left our bags and made our way here before anything else! The charcuterie board we ordered was lovely, from the fresh fruit, to every ham, cheese and even olives! absolutely incredible! I also got a sandwich and it's safe to say it was something I've never had before, amazing, moreish. The atmosphere is so cosy and uniquely decorated so much character ! The queues here get really long so be prepared to wait Would i recommend? Not only would I recommend, i can't wait to come back!"
